Hi, I’m livia!

My story

Influenced by my uncle Gilberto Dias, who is a professional artist and art tutor, I began drawing and painting at the age of 13. My passion for art has never stopped since then.

From Old Masters to Impressionism and Contemporary styles, I had the opportunity to learn a variety of media and techniques that have provided me with extensive knowledge and experience to share with my students.

I've been a professional artist and art tutor since 2000.  After nearly ten years teaching in my home country Brazil, where I completed my training in art, I decided to quit my Art Tutor position at Atelier Gilberto Dias in 2009 and experience life overseas. After some research on deciding what country to go, I fell in love with New Zealand's stunning scenery. My husband and I packed our bags and bikes and off we went to New Zealand.

This move changed everything in our lives and set me on the path I am today - helping people discover their potential, develop their skills to paint and create works of art that they are proud of. That also enabled me to work on my own art and be represented by art galleries in Christchurch, New Zealand.

I was the head tutor at Art Metro Art School in Christchurch from 2010 to 2019. I had such a great time while there, met lots of students and learned a lot while being in that position.

I am so grateful to have seen my students growing in their art and amazed on how popular and sought after my classes have become along all these years.

Nowadays I have my own studio where I run classes, workshops and work on my own art and online business.

After a great response to my instructional video "Colour Workshop" released in 2013 and the desire to help more people develop their skills, I decided to create online courses.

More recently, I've become a popular teacher through my online courses sold primarily through my website.

I had the opportunity to exhibit in several countries with much of my work residing now in private and corporate collections worldwide.

I've so grateful to have received several awards and been featured in magazines and TV programmes.

I live in New Zealand, I'm married and my husband and I have a very handsome son.

I'm currently represented by Windsor Gallery and Art Box Gallery in Christchurch, and The Captain’s Quarter Gallery in Akaroa, New Zealand.
